Good topic. That rap is awful, however, and very dated. I also want to disagree with the “adults need to ‘have fun’ while learning” comment. In the classes I’ve been in, certain people just want to chit chat and play games. That’s not “learning”. It’s a certain personality type that wants to do that stuff, which basically screws up the learning process for every one else who isn’t there to play games and talk. (But they don’t care because they’re having FUN! Yippee!)

maybe the 7th principle for adult learning is: they need to have fun…otherwise they disengaged from the training/learning experience…so well, done…I will use it next week in a ToT (sorry if I misspelled whatever…I am not native in English!)

Thanks for a light relief way for disseminating these principles. I’ve included a link in my latest blog “How To Learn With Style – Not Just A Classy Act”. Should put a smile on readers’ face.

Awesome topic. I like videos about training. There is a lot for free stuff on the internet. I love it! Last week I did a 45 minute webinar + certificate for free at trainingforthetrainer. com It very was helpful.

thanks for the comments: to JakeRaven – I quite agree, a horrible rap – actually a project I had to do for school. I promise not to quit my day job.
to Zombie T- who says adolescents are the only ones who can have fun? It may be that this was not effective, but the idea was to create a mnemonic for the six learning principles. It was meant to be memorable…
Lucan – I know. I intended to take it down and repair the slide, but I was so shocked to see the number of hits that I was immobilized.

Fabulous: You tell about “Adult Learning Principles” by resorting to the level of an adolescent rap. In other words, you AVOID the very principles you espouse. Nice bit of creativity, but it just doesn’t work.

Nice effort but you misspelled Autonomous

Cool vid, and nice rhymes. Um, I’d avoid showing this to any non-adult learners though. A for effort on the rapping, but…um…yeah. Good effort anyway.
